Look at the Turkish word TOP. Top means simply the ball. The older versions are tolp, ***tolup***< derived from verb tol- (to get full) and -up is a very old Turkish suffix/pic2 Pic3=Ball of wool> Turkish "bir top yumak" Acc. to Beekes there is a clear relation to Anatolian langs like Luwian and Hittite taluppa/i. I find the Greek word is even more interesting, because it goes with the Turkish vowel harmony>when 1st syllable with o, then the 2nd must be with u (or a)> like in the word "omuz" At the end my tweets I can guess that the Turkish word top<tolp<tolup -meaning ball or a globular thing- have all features and capacity to have a relation to the Pre-Greek, non-into-European word τολύπη meaning a round thing (German Bällchen)UzunbacakAdem (συζήτηση) 15:09, 22 Απριλίου 2022 (UTC)Uzunbacak Adem
