The name "Αγγελική" (aka Angelica) means in Greek the one whose physical beauty or character attributes derive from the angels. The word "angel" in Greek is written "άγγελος". The equivalent of the Greek letter "γ" in English is "g". My that I do not mean that "g" is the third letter of the English alphabet as "γ" is for the Greek. However, in Greeklish the letter "γ" is almost always replaced by "g". The spelling "Angeliki" is the result of confusion. People try to find the middle ground between "Angelika" and "Aggeliki." Since, however, it is used by almost everybody as correct I decided to avoid swimming againt the tide. If you wanted to pronounce correctly the name "Αγγελική" in English, you should pronounce "A" as "A" in Athens, "γγ" as "gh" in ghost, "ε" E in Erasmus, "λι" as Lee, and "κή" as "ki" in killer. The accent (intonation?) goes to the "κή." In order to write "Αγγελική" in "proper" English a new spelling would be needed.
