☏ Stephilippou, 1) not stretch as in streching vertically, as we stretch τεντώνω our hands. For legs, we open wide, and the expression in greek is απλώνω τα πόδια μου, Τι απλώθηκες? μάζεψε τα πόδια σου.

Ιnitially i have written a translation: απλώνω τα πόδια μου. Then, I thought: why don't i check the dictionary? And i saw, that it means "I take a few steps" Annnnd I checked en.wiktionary and it says the same thing. Plllease, do not write lemmata "από το μυαλό μου" instinctively. I’m not convinced that τεντώνω τα πόδια is wrong since I asked my dad he’s from Cyprus and a native Greek speaker and he said that τεντώνω τα πόδια μου can mean “stretch my legs”. Απλώνω τα πόδια μου looks to me more like “spread my legs” which is different you’re right but if I do a workout and I stretch afterwards you can say “let’s stretch out our legs after running”. Isn’t τεντώνω τα πόδια μου correct in that case? Where did you see “take a few steps’ on en.Wikipedia? (https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/stretch). You’re right that it CAN be an expression. You can say “let’s take a break and stretch our legs” which means walk around a little. But it can also be literal as in let’s actually stretch out our legs (like this, adding a link for clarity: https://www.wikihow.com/Stretch-Your-Legs). ☏ Stephilippou, you are right, stretch it is for both greek verbs, your translation correct. My προτίμηση is απλώνω and i was suprised that greek dictionaries give them as strict synonyms τεντώνω & απλώνω as at 3.@DSMG. For the characteristic posture of men, opening wide their legs when sitting at a chair, I use απλώνω because no tension is involved.
